About the Project
Women4AGreenEU is a transnational Erasmus+ cooperation partnership bringing together 9 organisations from 8 EU countries:
Greece, France, Sweden, Cyprus, Croatia, Portugal, Bulgaria and Ireland.
The project aims to:
- Increase women’s participation in green and digital sectors
- Support vocational education and training (VET) providers
- Strengthen entrepreneurial and innovation skills
- Promote inclusive and sustainable labour market participation
- Develop tools and resources for gender-responsive green transition
Over 36 months, the consortium will design, test and disseminate innovative training methodologies, policy recommendations and practical tools to empower women across Europe.
Project Objectives
Promote gender equality in green and digital sectors
Women4AGreenEU’s overall goal is to increase women’s participation and success in green technology, through an integrated approach that combines:
- Advocacy and stakeholder mobilisation
- Policy experimentation and evidence-based recommendations
- Education and skills development (VET) and mentorship
This approach contributes directly to the EU green and social agenda, including the Green Deal Industrial Plan, Pact for Skills, European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, and the Osnabrück Declaration on VET
Advocacy & Stakeholder Network
Establish and maintain a networked advocacy group involving VET providers, schools, public authorities, mentors and technology companies, to support the integration of gender-focused initiatives into existing education and workforce development frameworks, and to build strong cooperation with local, regional and national authorities.
Mentorship, Interventions & Training
Develop and refine a set of capacity-building actions, including a mentorship initiative, intervention programmes in schools and VET providers, and a targeted VET programme that attracts and retains women—especially those choosing education pathways (youth) and those considering career re-orientation toward green technologies.
Policy Framework & Blueprint
Develop a policy assessment framework and produce a comprehensive, scalable policy blueprint of best practices in gender-inclusive VET strategies and policy frameworks, to enhance women’s participation in green/clean technology sectors and support uptake by decision-makers.
